Miss Sturgon’s reaction to the UK government decision to trigger article 50 “I want another referendum on Scottish independence” seems to be at best premature or at worst foolhardy.

What would be the point of having a second referendum on Scottish independence before the conditions of Brexit have been agreed and which are not likely to be known for 2 years?
“Not acceptable” says Miss Sturgeon Scotland’s first Minister, Scotland Voted to stay in the EU by 62% although 36% of her own party voted to come out of the EU.
Obviously the previous result to stay in the union produced the wrong result.
Factual Position:
Scotland is part of the UK therefore is bound by the UK decision - simple.
We are sure that Miss Sturgeon worked this out long before the previous referendum in 2014 although her party agreed that the vote was to be “once in a generation”.
Even if the UK government were to agree to a new vote on Scottish independence, and that the Scottish people voted for the same, by the end of march 2017, it would not guarantee Scotland’s position in the EU.
What is Guaranteed is that it would be the road to nowhere.

Miss Sturgeon has been informed by the EU Commission that there is no possibility of a “fast Track” application and indeed any application for EU entry, would have to join the queue.
Waiting time for such an entry is likely to be north of 5 Years and would be subject to all current members agreement (maybe 10 years).
It is well known that some members will not agree, most notably Spain, therefore any application is DOOMED to FAILURE.
A similar application to joint the European Economic Area along the lines of the Norwegian arrangement would still have to be agreed with EU members and take time.
The crucial differences : The UK is major Net contributor to the EU, FAILING SCOTLAND IS A EVERMORE EXPENSIVE FREELOADER.
Scotland in the meantime would be in limbo
Cut off from the UK
No financial subsidy’s from the UK currently amounting to 9bn per annum
Taxes would have to be raised substantially
Government Expenditure would have to be reduced
Income from oversea oil has reduced from 11bn 4years ago to 60million
Abandoned 49.8bn goods supplied by Scotland to the UK and replace it with 12.3bn sold to the EU.
What currency would Scotland seek to use
Potential border controls would have to be introduced
Scotland in all intense and purposes would be bankrupt FACT
Why would any experienced politician want to lead its inhabitants to self-destruction?
What is Miss Sturgeons motive?
We believe she has some misguided view that if she creates a diversion then she will somehow be able to have an input into the Brexit negotiations that may keep Scotland in the EU when the UK leaves.
STUPIDITY BEYOND COMPREHENSION
